Cleaning Carpet and Upholstery to Relieve Allergies
16. March 2009 by Dean of Clean.
So you have allergies - either to pets, or dustmites and their waste. Often one of the the best remedies is having your carpet, rugs and upholstery professionally cleaned - preferably with “green” cleaning products that are hypoallergenic to be kind to your allergies. Learn more here about carpet and upholstery cleaning for allergy relief.
For people who are very allergic, there is a new Allergy Relief Treatment available from your professional cleaner. This natural, seed-derived after treatment works to denature pet and dustmite allergens for up to 6 months, so you can breathe easier.
I myself am mildly allergic to pets, yet still have a dog and 3 cats - and I saw the difference immediately the first time I used this product. (Needless to say, I now clean twice a year and use Allergy Relief afterward.) I’ve had quite a few clients with worse allergies than mine who were thrilled with the results, and have us clean and treat their carpet or upholstery on a regular basis to keep their indoor environment healthy.
In fact, I am so certain that cleaning and Allergy Relief Treatment will work wonders for you that I offer the following guarantee: If we clean and treat your carpet and upholstery, and you don’t see a noticeable difference in 3 days, we’ll refund the cost of the treatment. To date, nobody has ever taken me up on this offer - because it works!
In the Durango area, call 385-8444 to reserve your appointment for an exact quote on cleaning your home and relieving your allergies. Or learn more about carpet cleaning, upholstery cleaning and the benefits it can bring you!

Does your dingy wood floor really need to be re-sanded?
16. March 2009 by Dean of Clean.
The answer is, it depends.
Although sanding, staining and refinishing a wood floor is can be a time-intensive and disruptive project, there are times when it is unavoidable. For instance, if you just pulled up old carpet and found a hardwood floor underneath with a layer of fine sand all over it, you’ll probably need to go the route of complete restoration. Ditto if you’ve worn the finish completely off the floor in all the major traffic areas and are down to bare wood. (We do not offer sanding, but call us and we’ll be glad to recommend a selection of competent professionals that our clients have been happy with!)
However, if you have a wood floor that still has a layer of finish on it, albeit with scuffs and scratches, or even a few gouges or nicks in it, then sandless cleaning and refinishing is probably the way to go. This process can give you shiny, like-new wood floors in about a day, without the hassle and mess of sanding and at a lower cost. Best of all, by properly maintaining your wood floor with periodic cleaning and finishing, you’ll extend the life of this major home investment, saving you money in the long run…while keeping your home beautiful!
If you have questions about your wood floors, carpet, stone, tile or grout, or would like to a complimentary evaluation and quote for cleaning and finishing, just call us at 385-8444. Thanks for reading, and have a great day!
